David Hurst is the Chief Executive Officer of Bactrac Technologies LLC and partner in Bactrac Tanzania Ltd. has over 25 years of multi-disciplinary engineering experience in the mining, metallurgical and chemical industries worldwide. Areas of expertise involve consulting, project development, project audits, feasibility studies, engineering analysis, plant commissioning and technology development. Mr. Hurst is currently the principal and/or partner in several firms.  He is an alumni of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Mechanical Engineering). Mr. Hurst has undertaken metallurgical and economic studies, participated in detailed plant design and start-up, supervised metallurgical testwork, development, presented public and in-house technical seminars. Projects and studies have involved the treatment of gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, cobalt and uranium ores. Clients have included a variety of major and junior mining, exploration and engineering companies throughout the world. Mr. Hurst also serves as the Special Advisor to Africa for the International Committee for SME (Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration) and is a member of IPMI (International Precious Metal Institute). He also holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer (Extractive Industries) with the Chord Group, one of the world’s leading special economic zone consulting groups.
